Construction Business Development Manager

We are seeking an entrepreneurial candidate with a construction background, and the ability to develop relationships and drive additional opportunities and sales. Contributing strategically to our continued growth in this industry, the Construction Business Development Manager will leverage their knowledge of estimating, unions, and construction to seek opportunities for voice, data, security, multimedia, and structured cabling projects.

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Develop relationships with electrical contractors, construction managers, general contractors, architectural firms, industry influencers, and key strategic partners.
  • Create and recognize selling opportunities by utilizing industry and market knowledge.
  • Proactively provide consultative selling while providing technology solutions to potential clients.
  • Align selling strategies with business and organizational objectives.
  • Prepare, deliver, and follow through with sales proposals/presentations to close the sale.
  • Help define and develop project scopes, goals, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Assist with the coordination of analyzing the best use of resources, labor, equipment and vendors for jobs and installations.
  • Coordinate and deliver project completion by meeting or exceeding budget, timeline, and quality expectations.

 

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years management and business development experience in a construction environment, including working with union personnel
  • General knowledge and experience with electronics services industry (Voice, Data, Security, Multimedia, and/or Structured Cabling)
  • Business acumen with analytical and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and CRM software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with high attention to detail.

Purchasing Agent

We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent who will oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory management at our Pittsburgh headquarters. Along with strong organizational and communication skills, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years purchasing and inventory management experience with an attention to detail that will generate cost savings, efficiencies, and inventory optimization.

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and execute purchase orders, material requirement planning for projects, and RFP’s for service/shipping/supplies.
  • Generate and update stock replenishment reports.
  • Conduct analyses in all sourcing situations, along with follow up on all daily purchase orders.
  • Establish and grow rapport with suppliers and vendors.
  • Provide Project Managers and Customers with reports and updates on all material ordered.
  • Establish preferred shipping providers.
  • Organize and maintain ERP system item parts numbers and descriptions accurate to ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage back-end rebates with suppliers and/or manufacturers.
  • Complete responsibility for transactions.

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Minimum 3 years purchasing and/or inventory handling experience.
  • Possess Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business related field.
  • Experience and working knowledge of process implementation and improvement, along with logistics and ERP Systems.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with electronics services industry (Voice, Data, Security, Multimedia, and/or Structured Cabling) is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a drive for process improvement through analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Structured Cabling Project Manager

The Structured Cabling Project Manager oversees the integration and installation for the framework on which information systems are built for our valued customers. This position defines each cabling project’s objectives, and manages budget and quality control.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Define and develop project scope, goals, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and deliver project completion by meeting or exceeding budget, timeline, and quality expectations.
  • Provide quality customer interaction and build customer relationships with successful project completion and communication.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team and contractors.
  • Ensure all labor and OSHA requirements are met.
  • Work with Systems Engineers to develop Method of Procedure (MOP) for cutover of critical components.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory control to ensure the timely sourcing of all tools and materials.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) strongly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Structured Cabling preferred, purchasing experience a plus.
  • General knowledge of electronics services industry (Voice, Data, Security, Multimedia, and/or Structured Cabling) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with high attention to detail.
